Editorial Standards
Sources
Our guides are based on clinical practice guidelines and public health sources: the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and other NIH institutes, MedlinePlus, the CDC, the FDA, the NHS, major academic medical centers and peer-reviewed reviews. Every condition page, guide, tool and table lists the sources it relies on.
No invented people or numbers
We do not invent experts, reviewers, credentials, testimonials or statistics. Where evidence is weak or mixed, we say so.
AI answers
Answers to reader questions are generated by an AI model instructed to follow mainstream medical guidance, to avoid diagnosis and prescription advice, and to recommend a clinician where one is needed. The relevant HealthySleep.ai pages are given to the model as background and linked under each answer. Questions and answers are private by default; we publish a question only after reviewing the answer and removing anything personal.
